To connect an AI assistant to AppNatively, add the server URL https://appnatively.com/mcp in your assistant, then sign in to AppNatively and click Approve. It takes about two minutes, you only do it once per assistant, and it works with Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, VS Code and any other MCP client.
Before you start
- An AppNatively account with at least one app.
- An AI assistant that supports MCP servers (sometimes called “connectors,” “apps” or “plugins”). Some assistants only allow custom connectors on certain plans – check the guide for yours: Claude, ChatGPT, or Cursor and VS Code.
How to connect an AI assistant
1. Open the MCP Server settings
There are two ways in, and both open the same panel:
- From the workspace sidebar, go to Integrations and click Settings on the MCP Server card.
- Inside the App Editor, click MCP in the top bar. On a phone, it’s under the More actions (⋯) menu.
2. Copy the server URL
At the top of the panel, under Server URL — add this as an MCP server, click the copy button. The URL is https://appnatively.com/mcp – the same for every account.
3. Add the URL to your AI assistant
Paste the URL wherever your assistant adds MCP servers or custom connectors. Exact steps for each:
- Connect Claude to AppNatively (web, desktop and Claude Code)
- Connect ChatGPT to AppNatively
- Connect Cursor or VS Code to AppNatively (and other MCP clients)
4. Sign in and approve
Your assistant opens an AppNatively page titled Connect followed by the assistant’s name. Sign in if asked. The page lists what the assistant will be able to do – read your app’s pages, components and settings, and add and edit pages and components in the draft – and what it never can: create or delete apps, or publish.
Click Approve. You’re sent back to your assistant, now connected. If you’re signed in as the wrong account, click Not you? first.
5. Check that it worked
Ask your assistant: “List my AppNatively apps.” It should answer with the apps in your workspace. Back in AppNatively, the assistant now appears under Connected apps in the MCP Server panel.
What if my AI assistant can’t sign in?
Some clients can’t open a sign-in page and only accept a fixed credential. For those, generate a manual token in the same panel and paste it into the client. It gives exactly the same access. See Use a manual token with the AppNatively MCP server.
