To design your AppNatively app with AI, connect an assistant like Claude or ChatGPT, name your app, and describe the page you want in plain language. The assistant builds it one change at a time in your app’s draft, and each change appears live in the App Editor. You fine-tune and publish when you’re happy.
Before you start
- Connect your assistant – see Connect an AI assistant to AppNatively.
- Connect your website if you want the AI to use your real products, listings or posts – see Connect your website to AppNatively.
How to design a page with AI
1. Open your app in the App Editor
It isn’t required, but it’s the best way to follow along. Put your assistant and the App Editor side by side if you can.
2. Tell the assistant which app to work on
Name the app in your first message – for example, “In my AppNatively app Green Leaf Store, …”. If you have several apps and don’t name one, the assistant will usually list them and ask.
3. Describe what you want
Plain language is fine. Start with something focused:
- “Build a Home page with a banner slider, a row of product categories, and a grid of my newest products.”
- “Add a bottom navigation bar with Home, Shop, Wishlist and Account tabs.”
- “Switch the app’s theme to a dark green primary color with a warm off-white background.”
More examples to copy: Write prompts that get the screen you want.
4. Watch it land in the App Editor
With the App Editor open, each change shows up within moments. The editor jumps to the page, drawer or navigation bar the AI just changed, selects the edited component, scrolls it into view and briefly highlights it. A small notice in the corner says what changed.
5. Keep going, or fine-tune by hand
Ask for follow-ups in the same conversation – “make the banner taller,” “move categories above the slider.” Or adjust details yourself; see Edit screens and components by hand. Go back and forth as often as you like.
Important: the App Editor’s Undo can’t take back changes the AI made. See Undo an AI change you don’t want for what to do instead.
6. Publish when you’re happy
The AI never publishes. Preview your draft, then publish from the App Editor like any other change. See Save vs. Publish.
