A connected AI assistant can read and edit the drafts of the apps in your AppNatively workspace – pages, components, navigation, drawers, theme and templates. It can never publish, build, create or delete apps, change your website, or reach billing, team or signing credentials. Every change goes through the App Editor’s own rules.
What can the AI read?
- The apps in your workspace, and each app’s pages, components, drawers, headers and bottom navigation.
- Your theme (colors and fonts) and your status bar and navigation bar settings.
- Your template library and media library.
- Your connected website’s products, listings, posts and categories – so links and buttons point at real items.
- AppNatively’s component documentation and icon names, so it knows what each component can do.
What can the AI change?

It can also group up to 20 changes into one step, so a bigger request goes through faster.
What can the AI never do?
- Create or delete apps.
- Publish, build, or submit to the App Store or Google Play.
- Install a whole-app starter template (those replace your entire app, so they’re only installed from the App Editor).
- Change your app icon, splash screen, app name or package ID.
- Reach billing, team members, integrations or signing credentials.
- See orders, customers or user accounts, or change anything on your website.
- Search stock-photo sites – it uses your media library or public image links you give it.
How is access secured?
- Sign-in on AppNatively’s own page. Your password never reaches the AI assistant. Sign-in uses OAuth 2.1 with PKCE.
- Short-lived access. Assistants get access keys that last up to an hour and are renewed only while the connection is approved.
- Drafts only. Every change lands in your draft and goes through the App Editor’s own rules, so the app can’t be left in a state the editor can’t open.
- You can revoke at any time. Access ends within the hour – see Manage and disconnect AI assistants.
Where do changes go?
Every change is saved to your app’s draft, and shows up live if the App Editor is open. Your users see nothing until you publish. See Design your app with AI.
