The AppNatively MCP server is a connection that lets an AI assistant – Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, VS Code or any other MCP client – design your AppNatively mobile app. You describe what you want in plain language, and the assistant builds real pages and components in your app’s draft for you to review and publish.
What is MCP?
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets AI assistants use tools from other products. An app that supports it is called an MCP client. When you connect AppNatively as an MCP server, your assistant gets a set of AppNatively tools – “read this page,” “add a component,” “update the theme” – and uses them to carry out what you ask.
How is this different from asking AI to write an app?
A general AI assistant writes code you then have to build, host and maintain. With the AppNatively MCP server, the assistant doesn’t write code at all. It edits your real app using the same components and settings you see in the App Editor, and AppNatively handles the native iOS and Android app.
What can the AI do in my app?
- Build pages, sections, headers, bottom navigation and drawers.
- Change existing components – text, images, colors, layout, order and visibility.
- Style the whole app through its theme colors and fonts.
- Use your real content – products, listings, posts and categories from your connected website – so buttons and links point at things that exist.
- Install templates from your template library, just as you would in the App Editor.
What can’t the AI do?
- Create or delete apps.
- Publish, build, or submit to the App Store or Google Play.
- Reach billing, team members or signing credentials.
- Change anything on your website.

Where do the AI’s changes go?
Every change lands in your app’s draft. If the App Editor is open, you watch it happen live – the editor jumps to whatever the AI just changed and highlights it. Nobody using your app sees anything until you publish. See How your changes reach your users.
